![]() Four things around Glasgow Uni that really could have inspired Harry Potter.Unlike the Yellow card, Snapfax's magnetic sides had a habit of being able to ruin your bankcards, but that didn't stop scrambling to get their hands on theirs when they were launched and dished out by (their energetic) PRs on university campuses across the city. It made for student-centred competition as it were to the extremely popular Scream pubs such as The Arc, the Hall or Curler's Rest in its previous incarnation (as Curlers) and their 'yellow' discount card that everyone also had on them to use when they were out. Whether it was the cheap drinks at Ad Lib or The Monkey Bar, the £3 foot-long out of Subway and the cheap Domino's or McDonalds, it certainly went some way to saving some of those precious pennies, not forgetting the free entry (before 12 / on a Sunday) into Glasgow's student mecca/meat-market The Garage, The Cathouse or the gone-but-not-forgotten Shack on Pitt Street. Glasgow chapel hidden from view for almost 100 years revealed by hospital demolition worksīut for those that did use it, it allowed students to get fed and watered (bevvied) at various venues across the city without burning too big a whole in their student loan. ![]()
